As Managing Partner of Soloway Group, Joshua offers clients and colleagues a practical perspective grounded in experience and ingenuity. He draws from his extensive background as a serial entrepreneur, investment banker, and attorney. Joshua provides pragmatic advice and effective solutions for operating companies, asset managers, and VCs in the energy, finance, climate, real estate, and technology sectors. Joshua specializes in structuring and executing sophisticated transactions, strategic initiatives, commercial agreements, and ongoing business matters. He is passionate about helping companies and clients achieve their most important goals – from raising capital to growing their businesses and selling their companies or acquiring other companies.
Joshua’s experience includes leadership roles at several large New York law firms, where he led VC and Emerging Company Groups.
Before founding Soloway PC, he started his legal career at PwC New York, advising institutional investors and asset managers on fund structuring, corporate acquisitions, and investment transactions. He then served as Managing Director of Rainmaker Global’s New York office, growing it into the firm’s most profitable location. Joshua previously co-founded Ameritus Capital Group, an investment banking and financial advisory firm.
An experienced legal leader, Joshua has served as Chief Legal Officer for multiple companies, including Multitaskr and CarbonEthic Group. His entrepreneurial background includes being an early employee at a Softbank-backed tech company and co-founding successful businesses in real estate, consulting, and technology.
Joshua holds a JD from Boston University School of Law and a BA in International Affairs from the University of Colorado. He is admitted to practice in New York and is Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s CleanTech and Climate Change Committee. He has held Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent and Series 79 Investment Banking licenses.
Beyond his professional work, Joshua serves on the boards of the Child Rescue Association and the Economic Club of Africa New York. He was appointed Special Counsel to the Vatican’s impact accelerator program, the Laudato Si Challenge. He co-hosted the Funding Lab podcast and is a frequent speaker on emerging companies, climate and carbon markets, innovation, and technology.
